We all missed Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2020, but have no fear! While the Halloween party as we know it is not yet returning, Walt Disney World has an exciting new option for families wanting a special Halloween experience. Boo Bash at Magic Kingdom begins August 10 with other dates available through October 31.
You may be wondering, “What’s Boo Bash? How is it different?” I wondered the same thing. Let’s break it down:
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was known for featuring your favorite Disney characters in their Halloween costumes. Boo Bash will do the same! You can catch characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas in “Jack’s Nightmare Cavalcade,” Mickey Mouse and friends in “Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade,” and more! Maleficent herself will even make an appearance in dragon form.
The biggest difference in character sightings at Boo Bash versus Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is you’ll see cavalcades rather than full-length parades and meet and greets. This is consistent with current safety guidelines at Walt Disney World implemented since the start of the pandemic.
The length of the event also differs slightly from Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Boo Bash is considered an “After Hours Event,” meaning rather than Magic Kingdom closing early for the party, your event begins after park close. With a Boo Bash ticket, you can enter Magic Kingdom at 7 p.m., with Boo Bash beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting until midnight (some dates have varying times).
Throughout the event, you can indulge in complimentary beverages, ice cream treats, and popcorn. There will also be specialty treats available for purchase.
If you’ve been waiting patiently to return to trick or treating around Magic Kingdom, your wait is over! Trick or treating is returning for Boo Bash. Make sure to dress in costume for this awesome event, while following all costume and mask requirements. It’s fun for your whole family!
Like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, select rides will be open with shorter-than-normal wait times. These rides include favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and more.
